By joining the Hub, TEAM has pledged to achieve net zero emissions along with many other businesses across 120 countries. The official pledge is to halve its emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050. However, with its Carbon Reduction Strategy, TEAM Energy has set out to become net zero by 2030.

Along with their Net Zero Strategy, joining this community will demonstrate to other businesses and TEAM’s customers its commitment to reducing their impact on the environment through authentic action.

The SME Climate Hub is an initiative of the We Mean Business Coalition, the Exponential Roadmap Initiative and the International Chamber of Commerce.

This partnership is an exercise in radical collaboration that opens the doors for SMEs to join United Nations Race to Zero campaign  — an international campaign that brings together an unprecedented coalition of real economy actors and 120 governments committed to achieve net-zero emissions by no later than 2050. In collaboration with the Net Zero team at Oxford University, the SME Climate Hub provides tools and resources to enable SMEs to make a climate commitment, take action and measure their progress. It is the SME Climate Hub’s belief that climate action is everyone’s business.

The SME Climate Hub supports small and medium sized businesses to commit to globally recognised carbon targets, a goal the business proudly endorses.

Graham Paul, Service Delivery Director, TEAM Energy said:

“The SME Climate Hub's ethos aligns with our own, as we continue to work with UK businesses to reduce the impact their emissions have on the planet and achieve their carbon targets.

They share our beliefs that businesses will experience multiple benefits in carbon reduction and striving for net zero emissions, including standing out as a business, improving energy efficiency, and lowering costs and being more resilient to changing market conditions and regulations.”

TEAM has set an ambitious target to become net zero ahead of the UK Government’s 2050 target because, as a business, they take their part to play in the fight against climate change seriously. The business aims to inspire its customers to build their own sustainable futures; joining the SME Climate Hub is an endorsement of its mission to do so.
